Fence Repair in North Fort Worth

A fence usually fails in one of four ways, and only one of them means you need a whole new fence.

What actually went wrong

Leaning posts. Nearly always the real problem. Wood posts rot at the soil line, and round steel posts work loose in clay that swells and shrinks through a Texas year. If the pickets and rails are sound, the fix is at the post.

Storm damage. A wind event takes out a run, usually where a post was already marginal. It's worth checking the rest of the line at the same time, because the next storm finds the next weak post.

Sagging gates. The most common complaint, and the most fixable. A gate sags because it was framed without enough compression and hung on lag bolts that have pulled loose in the post. Re-framing with triple compression and re-hanging on through bolts fixes it properly, instead of shimming it for another year.

Rusted fasteners. Galvanized nails streaking rust down the pickets. Cosmetic, until it isn't.

Repair or replace? A straight answer

If the trouble is at the posts or the gate, and the pickets and rails are still sound, that's a repair, and we'll tell you so. Replacement makes sense when the wood itself is failing along the run. Either way you get the honest call on the visit, not a sales pitch.

When it's time for a new fence

If replacement is the right answer, here's how we build a cedar fence: steel posts driven deeper, stainless fasteners, and gates that don't sag.
